• Year 5 & 6 Tag Rugby Competition

  Today we took two teams comprising of seven Year 5 and Year 6 children to the Market Drayton Area School Sports Partnership Tag Rugby Competition at the Grove School where they faced teams from other local Primary schools.

   

  Our B team won two and lost two of their group matches.

   

  The A team won three of their group matches and drew another. In the quarter final they beat Hodnet Primary School. The semi-final was a very close, intense match, which lasted 18 minutes instead of the planned 7!  The team eventually won and progressed to the final, which was another extremely close and well-fought match, with the team scoring the winning try after 15 minutes.

   

  Mrs Taylor said "The children were were fabulous! The perseverance and fight that they showed right to the end made me very proud.  They very much deserved to lift the trophy."

   

  The A team now progresses to the next round of competition in February 2023.  Well done everybody!

• Live Music Week

  At the start of November, Shropshire Music Service performed to all of the children as part of 'Live Music Week'.  The children were shown a range of instruments from the woodwind and brass families. 

   

  We listened to a range of music genres and sang along to some, including the James Bond Theme Tune, Jazz and Sweet Caroline!
