Some of the children in school have been talking about ‘Momo’ recently and there has been a lot of information in the media this week. • World Book Day

    Sun 17 Feb 2019

This year we are going to celebrate World Book Day on 7th March by revisiting that old family favouritethe bedtime story. Children will come to school in their pyjamas with their favourite bedtime storythey may bring a pillow and a teddy and throughout the day there will be an opportunity to share their bedtime story with their friends.

Book swap shop - We are also going to run a book swap—if a child brings in one book they no longer want (in good condition) they will receive a token. This token can then be used to ‘buy’ another book. The aim is to spread a love of books through school.

We shall be holding a Book Fair in the Music Room from Monday 18th March until Thursday 21st March. We hope you can support us again so that we can buy some more books for our library.

  • Safer Internet Day 2019

    Thu 14 Feb 2019

During assemblies and lessons the children investigated ‘Our Internet, Our Choice, which encouraged children to work together to be positive, safe and respectful online. These sessions empowered children to take control of their digital lives and consider how consent works in an online context. They explored how young people ask for, give and receive consent online. This could be in friendships, how they take and share images and videos or how they manage their privacy and data.

The children worked well together during the morning to discuss the issues and hopefully will now consider their choices more carefully to help them stay safer online. It has been stressed that children should discuss their options with a trusted adult before making any decisions that could affect them.

Parents have been asked to support these issues and discuss any concerns children may have.
