  • Centenary Garden Party

    Fri 10 Jul 2015

A huge thank you to all those who joined us for our Centenary Garden Party celebration on Friday 10th July. It was a great end to an amazing year and a wonderful way to unveil our new school mosaic, which you will find gracing the front of our school.

It was amazing to have the support of so many members of our school community during the event and for the kind contributions of food and other donations before the day.  Without your support and generosity we could not have pulled off such a successful event.

We would particularly like to take the opportunity to thank the following people for all their hard work:

Jenny O’Leary, a local artist, for creating the fabulous commemorative mosaic over several weeks with the support of Mrs Hughes and Mr Hayward.

Our Site Manager Mr Bratt and Mr Simon Hutchinson for the several hours of heavy work erecting the mosaic at the front of the main school building.

Asda, One-Stop, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Palethorpe’s, Tyreworks, S & J Property Centres and The Red Lion/Joule’s Brewery for their generous donations of picnic foods and tombola/raffle prizes.

Key Strings, for providing the musical backdrop to the event and Peak Pursuits for running the climbing activities throughout the day.

Market Drayton Infant School for the loan of various pieces of equipment, which helped make our stalls such a success.

All the children, staff members and governors who helped prepare for the event.

The planning and coordination task team of Miss Richards, Mrs Green and Mr Richards.

And finally, to all the parents, family members, pupils, current and ex-staff and governors for their help and support on the day!  Here’s to the next 100 years!

  • Learning Partnership Launch Event

    Fri 03 Jul 2015

To launch the Market Drayton Learning Partnership, the Infant School and Junior School joined the Grove School on Friday 3rd July to participate in an ambitious programme of educational activities.

The children joined together in mixed age groups to undertake a variety of activities, including: drama, singing, number fun, science, art and PE. Thank you very much to the year 10s from the Grove school who led many of the activities so brilliantly.

After a picnic lunch on the field all the children joined together to form a gingerbread man shape in the ultimate collaborative effort to break a Guinness World Record. Parents, governors and the town mayor joined the children to witness this amazing achievement.

Thank you very much to the Grove school, staff and pupils for hosting the event. Thank you very much to Image on Food for providing the gingerbreads for this special occasion and the team who took the aerial photograph.

A huge thank to the committee who created and organised this amazing event for the children. They have worked incredibly hard to make this a day that will long be remembered.

Congratulations and thanks to: John Hargreaves, Chair of the Infant Governors, Becky Pendlebury, Sarah Turner and Becky Longsdale from the Infants School; Rachel Giles, Michelle Williams and Sharon Wright from the Grove; Donna Dowling and Lindsey Hughes from the Junior School.
