Year 3 Fordhall Farm visits

Just before half term our three Year 3 classes visited Fordhall Farm, to learn about the history and the workings of the farm, in particular it’s organic principles.

The visit was designed to tie in with their topic for the term, “Le Crunch”, in which the children are planning and preparing their very own café.

As part of their visit they learned about how the animals on the farm are looked after, how their produce is utilised in the farm café and the various job roles in the farm shop and café.

The children had the opportunity to feed the pigs & chickens and collect eggs, which they then delivered to the café, to see how they are used.

They will hopefully be applying some of what they have learned to the planning of their own cafés!

Many thanks to their teachers for organising the trip and Fordhall Farm for welcoming the children.
