Poetry Competition

On Monday 9th February 2015 we held the John Cole Poetry Competition for the second year. With this year being the school’s centenary the pupils learnt poetry linked to the First World War.

Twelve children took part in the final of the competition and they recited two poems each. The school is very proud of all the children who participated in the competition for their bravery in front of their peers and for the fabulous performances. They gave the judges a very hard decision; eventually the panel decided that Kayla, from Year 4 was the overall winner, with joint second place going to Loveday, Year 6 and Jade, Year 5.

Many thanks to Mrs Green for organising the event; Glyn Jackson, Kevin Lee, Catherine Westwood and Yvonne Bridgeland for judging the competition. A special thank you to John Cole for awarding the prizes and for presenting the trophy.
