Becoming an academy school
We are delighted to confirm that on June 1st Market Drayton Junior School officially became an academy school and a member of the Empower Multi Academy Trust (MAT). We join five other schools in the partnership, Market Drayton Infant School, St Peter’s Primary School in Wem and the Shrewsbury schools Greenacres Primary School, Woodfield Infant School and Wilfred Owen Primary School. St George’s Junior School in Shrewsbury has been granted authority to join us shortly. All of the schools are graded good or outstanding by Ofsted.
Our teaching and administration staff are already working closely together to make the most of the benefits offered by this partnership to further improve the education and resources we offer the children. We also continue to work closely with the Local Authority who provide many of our services and the Grove School through our ongoing membership of the Market Drayton Learning Partnership.
