  • Year 6 Arthog Trip

    Sat 29 Sep 2018

Our Year 6 children began the year with their residential visit to the Arthog Outdoor Education Centre, in Wales, in September.

They enjoyed some fabulous weather and took part in a variety of adventurous outdoor activities including gorge walking, mountain walking, rock climbing, surfing and orienteering. Each evening they were kept just as busy with a night time obstacle course, walk and orienteering tasks to take part in.

The children accomplished so many great things during their time there, created some lasting memories and many completed various personal challenges. Any tiredness was completely overshadowed by enjoyment and the staff involved in the trip were impressed with their enthusiasm and determination. Well done Year 6!

The school would like to say a big thank you to the school staff and volunteers who accompanied the children on the trip and made the experience so memorable for the children.

  • Year 5 Greek Day

    Fri 21 Sep 2018

This term, as part of their historical study of the Greeks, the Year 5 teachers invited a guest speaker - television actor and historical researcher, Ian Morris - from ‘Portals to the Past’. Workshops ran all day in school on Thursday 20th September.

Many children (and staff) took the opportunity to dress up in Ancient Greek style costumes and accessories for the day and they looked amazing. Thank you to all the parents who supported the day – it was really appreciated. This was an excellent day for the children which gave them first-hand experience of Greek life, to help put their learning into context.
