The summer term theme in Year 3 is “Le Crunch”. The children will be working towards creating a café within their class rooms with a French theme. We will be incorporating a number of cross curricular links to bring the café to life including the geography of France, MFL, mathematics to calculate costings of catering for our cafe and Design Technology in the form of bread making, as well as French art to create a distinctly French feel to our classrooms.
The children will visit an existing successful café, at Hungersheath Farm, Newcastle, as their model and see how cafes are designed, sourced and set up in such a manner to create a relaxing overall experience for the customer. Our fabulous finish to our café theme will be to open our café doors to parents and carers to enjoy a leisurely afternoon of music, hospitality and fine food with a distinctly French feel!
