  • Olympic Sports Day 2016

    Wed 22 Jun 2016

In the weeks before the Sports Day Mrs Savill organised our mixed PSHE classes into countries to participate in the Sports Day. First, the children learnt more about Brazil and focused on Rio, before looking in more depth at how the Olympics would change Rio. Next, the children learnt about the countries they would be representing: South Africa, Canada, Chile, Ivory Coast, Jamaica, St. Lucia, Sweden, Netherlands, Fiji, Austria, Barbados and Malta.

On the 22nd June we held our Olympic themed Sports Day event, which started with an Opening Ceremony where the children paraded in their countries in front of their parents and relatives. The lower school took part in their events in the morning and the upper school in the afternoon before everyone got back together to march round for the closing ceremony. Sweden won the lower school competition and the Ivory Coast the upper school; overall the country with the most points after all the events was Sweden. So well congratulations to Sweden for winning our Olympic Sports Day.

Thank you very much to all the children for performing so brilliantly during the day. Thanks to all the parents and relatives who came to cheer everyone on. Finally, a big thank you to Mrs Taylor for all her hard work organising the event.

  • Green Flag Renewal

    Fri 10 Jun 2016

The school is very pleased to announce that they have recently undergone their third assessment for the renewal of the Green Flag Award and were successful in their bid.

Congratulations to Mrs Saunders and the Eco Warriors for all their hard work preparing for the renewal bid. The school is very proud to have received the award for the third time.

The assessor has sent the following message: “The Eco-Committee were enthusiastic and efficient, the Head fully backs the aims of Eco Schools in many supportive ways and the new Co-ordinator deserves praise for taking over the green mantle by adding her enthusiasm and expertise in environmental education and practical endeavours in the school grounds. A really enjoyable assessment in a welcoming and enthusiastic school. Well done!”

  • Ballsports Football Super Cup 2016

    Thu 09 Jun 2016

On Thursday 9th June a mixed team of boys and girls participated in Ballsports European Football tournament at Greenfields Sports Ground.

The children had to play three matches in the group stage and they won 2 games and drew their second before playing in the semi-final. They won this and went through to win the final in a close played match.

Congratulations to all the children who took part and who played tremendously. Some great goals were scored by boys and girls alike.
