We are very fortunate at our school to have a PTA who have been an integral part of the school community for many years. In its time the PTA has raised many thousands of pounds, which have been spent on equipment and resources to enhance our children’s educational experience.

All our families are automatically members of Market Drayton Junior’s PTA when their child joins the school. All parents and members of the school community are encouraged to become involved, even if they only have a small amount of time available.

The PTA exists to provide closer links between home and school; it is an excellent way to bring staff, parents and friends together socially in support of the school. Not all our events are run as fundraisers, some are held with the aim of having fun and as a way of thanking families for their continued support for the PTA.

Our Mission Statement

To advance the education of the pupils in the school by developing more extended relationships between staff, parents and others associated with the school, by engaging in activities which support the school. Providing and assisting in the provision of facilities for education at the school (not normally provided by the Local Education Authority).

In the past we have contributed to the Trim Trail and Tyre Park on the field, bought wet play games for all classes and a digital recorder and class set of ukuleles for the children. We also bought Jubilee mugs for all the staff and children and chocolate medals for the School Olympic Sports day. 

Recently, we have played a big role in the Centenary celebrations and purchased a teddy bear memento for all the members of our school community.

All this would not be possible without the wonderful support of the parents.

ACTIVITIES & EVENTS

Our current PTA formed in October 2017 and were very active r, raising valuable funds for our school, through the following activities:

Bauble Decorating Competition

120 students entered a Christmas bauble competition in December 2017. After costs, a total of £55 was raised by this simple and fun activity. 

Bags to School

A Bags2School collection was held in January 2018; in return for 240kg of clothing the PTA received a cheque for just short of £100, to add to its funds! 

Christmas Bingo

Bingo evenings are always a popular fundraiser and our 2017 Christmas Bingo was true to form, raising an impressive £270! 

Quiz Night

A new addition to the programme for 2017 - 18, a quiz night held at a local public house proved to be another fun, successful evening that managed to raise £143.

Supply Christmas crackers for the children’s Christmas lunch.

Purchase costumes/materials for the Christmas production.

Support the Year 6 Leavers' trip in the summer term.
