Section Eleven: 

How is Market Drayton Junior School accessible to children with SEND?

 

• All pupils with SEN and /or disability take part in all aspects of school life including out of school activities. All children have participated in the full range of opportunities and events arranged by the school, including trips and residential visits.
• The whole building is accessible to children with physical disability via ramps on the main doors.  The only areas inaccessible would be two upstairs offices and two resource areas, none of which are frequently used by pupils.
• We ensure that equipment used is accessible to all children, where physically possible, regardless of their needs.
• After school provision and extra-curricular activities are accessible to all children including those with SEND – if a case arose where school felt a particular need could not be catered for by existing provision, this would be discussed with parents on an individual basis.
