Virtual School Games 

The Virtual School Games is a competition for primary school aged children who are educated in Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin. The Virtual School Games will consist of 6 weeks of sport specific personal best challenges commencing on the 18/05/2020. Each following Monday new challenges will be set leading to the ‘Shropshire Homes Virtual School Games’ celebration week on the 29/06/2020. The following sport specific personal best challenges will be released on these dates:

29/06/2020 – Shropshire Homes Virtual School Games Celebration Week

All the challenges have been created by our six School Games Organisers. Demonstrations of each challenge are shown by our Young Sporting Champion Dani Hales who is an Under 20 athletics national hurdle runner – just click on the link on the challenge sheets to view the demonstrations. You can also adapt the challenges if needed, this could be using different equipment you have at home or even making them harder!

Attached below is a PDF with all the information on what is happening and how the children can get involved. The key points are:

• They are looking for children to enter by sending videos and photos of them undertaking the challenges (all with parental / carer consent) whether they are at home or at school.

• Along with the sport-specific personal best challenges they are also looking for talented acts for their virtual opening ceremony and are inviting children to send videos of them performing their talents.

• The week beginning 29th June will be Shropshire Homes Virtual School Games Celebration Week and will kick off with the ‘virtual’ warm up and opening School Games has Got Talent acts.

• Winners for each challenge will be announced on Friday 3rd July.
