From 13th December 2014, the EU Food Information for Consumers Regulations came into force. These European Rules will be enforced in the UK by the Food Information regulations 2014.
The EU lists 14 allergens that need to be identified if they are used as ingredients in a dish. This means that food business will now need to provide information about allergenic ingredients used in foods sold or provided by them.
Please find below, or by clicking on this link, a copy of the Shire Services 4 week allergen matrix for primary schools. This matrix lists all primary dishes and identifies which dishes have any of the 14 allergens as ingredients.
We strongly recommend that any parents of pupils with allergies or intolerances still contact the school cook to arrange a meeting to discuss their specific requirements.
